LeapTrack Error Message

Symptom / Question
I have an error that says "LeapTrack cannot connect to the database as specified by the DSN"

Solution
Have your School or District Tech Coordinator or IT Professional test the settings on your computer's installed anti-virus or firewall software. The communication path that LeapTrack uses to connect to its database is likely being blocked by another software package on the computer.

Important Notes:
  • To ensure that LeapTrack can connect to its database, check that Communication Port 33306 is set to "open communication" in your anti-virus, personal firewall, or Windows® Firewall settings.
  • As an alternative, double check that the "LeapTrack Server Service" is '"Running" in your Windows® Services Panel. This panel can be found by going to 'Start Menu' -> 'Run...', type "services.msc"
  • As an alternative, double check that ODBC Settings in the Windows® Administrative Tools are correctly set. These are set automatically upon the installation of LeapTrack, and can vary based upon a Classroom or Client version of LeapTrack installation.
