LeapPort Turbo and LeapPort Classic Driver Installation |
|
|
| Symptom / Question |
My LeapPort lights are flashing and the cartridges do not show up on screen.
|
| Solution |
Install or re-install your LeapPort Turbo device driver.
|
| Important Notes: |
- The LeapPort Turbo requires LeapTrack 4.1.187 Turbo Edition software application to be installed on the computer. To check your current LeapTrack software version, select the 'Help Menu' in LeapTrack, and then 'About LeapTrack...' to confirm the correct software version on your computer.
- The LeapPort software driver resides on CD-ROM #1 that was included in your Getting Started Kit. If you cannot find your CD-ROM and LeapTrack is already installed on the computer, point the New Hardware Wizard to the local copy of the driver. The local copy can be found at C:\Program Files\LeapFrog SchoolHouse\LeapTrack.
- You will need administrative privileges on your computer to install the LeapPort driver. If you do not have administrative privileges, please contact your School or District Tech Coordinator or IT Professional.
|
| Step By Step: |
- Ensure that your LeapPort Turbo is connected to your computer via the provided USB cable and the AC adapter is plugged into the wall outlet. If you have a LeapPort Classic, ensure that the cartridge station is connected to the computer.
- Insert the LeapTrack Assessment and Instruction System CD-ROM #1 into your computer's CD-ROM drive.
- On your desktop or start menu, right-click on 'My Computer'
- Select 'Properties...'
- Select the 'Hardware Tab'
- Select the 'Device Manager' button.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the Device Manager window to 'Universal Serial Bus Controllers'
- Right-click on 'LeapPort Turbo' or 'LeapPort' within the Device Manager. You may notice a question mark or exclamation mark next to the listed device.
- Select 'Update Driver...'
- The New Hardware Wizard will launch. If the wizard asks you to connect to the Internet to search for a suitable driver, select 'No, not this time' and click 'Next...'
- Select 'Install the software automatically (Recommended)' and click 'Next...'
- The wizard will search the CD-ROM drive for the correct device driver.
- The New Hardware Wizard may ask which driver to select, if this occurs, leave the default driver highlighted in the wizard window and click 'Next...'
- If your computer is running Windows XP, a Windows Logo Tested warning may occur when installing the device driver. If this occurs, select 'Continue Anyway'
- Click 'Finish'
**Until the LeapTrack application is opened, the LeapPort lights will still flash in green. Launch the LeapTrack application to confirm successful installation.
